Activities to Teach Kindness on the Playground

Kindness is one of the most important things we can teach children. There are several activities you can do on the playground which encourage kids to be kind to each other.

During their nursery years, most children can only see things from their own perspective. This means they can’t always understand someone else’s feelings. By encouraging empathy, children can develop important life skills outside of the curriculum.

Studies show that people who are kind to others are actually healthier and happier in life. But what activities can schools and nurseries do to help kids become more compassionate?

Games Which Promote Kindness

There are many games and activities which promote kindness and cooperation between children. Check out some ideas below:

Role-Play Activities

Role-playing games offer kids the chance to make up their own scenarios and play different characters. Things like shopkeepers and customers, or doctors and nurses are popular games. These will help children learn how to empathise with others and be kind.

Pieces of equipment like outdoor stages and mini shop counters are great for these activities. Kids can use their imaginations and take what they have learnt into real-world situations. There are plenty of different designs and equipment you could use to enhance your play area.

Team Building Exercises

Working in a team is a great way for pupils to cooperate with each other and listen to different viewpoints. When working towards a common goal, children need to communicate with each other and decide the best course of action.

Some examples of team building games include:

  • Team quiz hosted by the teacher
  • Building an outdoor den
  • Acting out scenes on stage
  • Making up and telling stories
  • Sporting activities like football, netball and hockey

These games encourage teamwork and communication which are vital social skills to learn.

Understanding Each Other’s Emotions

Up to the age of 4, most children can’t understand other people’s emotions very well. It may sound bad, but young kids are programmed to only focus on their own needs and point of view.

When they begin primary school, these skills improve as they relationships with others. Schools can offer plenty of activities to teach kindness on the playground during lessons and break times.

Roughly 20% of children report experiencing bullying at school, and this can have a range of negative effects. This is why encouraging kids to be kind and empathetic to each other from a young age is so important.

Voicing Negative Feelings

Sometimes playing games on the playground can lead to fall-outs or disputes between children. While these situations are not nice to see, they can offer important learning opportunities.

Take the pupils aside and ask them what they’re feeling – Angry? Sad? Confused? Worried? Asking them to describe how they feel helps them understand each other’s point of view.

They can then talk it out and resolve the situation. Next time they’ll be able to move on and cooperate when playing the same game. This is a crucial part of social development which kids can take into adult life.

Summary

A playground is a great place for kids to learn important life lessons outside of the classroom. Practical activities promote teamwork and help young kids to learn empathy. They also promote feelings of respect for each other.

4 Ideas for Teaching Organisation on the Playground

Organisation is an important skill for children to master in school. It affects how they work in lessons and will also be something they take with them into adulthood.

Many playground activities can help teach organisation through fun and education. Check out some ideas for incorporating organisation skills into play below.

Contact Us

1. Sorting and Categorising Games

The activities will involve finding similar items and grouping them together into categories. Children could do this outside by collecting up pebbles, leaves twigs or even outdoor toys like building blocks.

They can then separate these and categorise them by size, shape and colour. This kind of activity makes use of natural features already in the playground. It also offers a simple way to practise counting and sorting.

2. Tidying Toys Away

Having storage facilities for toys in the playground is a great way to save space. It also gives kids the chance to practise organising themselves. Encouraging the children to tidy things away after playing will teach responsibility. It also keeps the outdoor space in order and prevents equipment from being lost.

Large storage sheds or benches with integrated storage offer the perfect place to keep outdoor toys safe. You could also categories the different types of equipment together. This means they can be easily found if someone wants to use them. For example, building blocks in one section, balls in another, skipping ropes in another etc.

Different pieces of furniture on the playground can help with storage. These are multifunctional as children can use them for seating and storing toys.

Playground Organised Toy Storage

3. Time Management Activities

Managing time is a key skill for children to master during their school years. From knowing what time to get up in the morning, to knowing how long each lesson is, it’s important to stay on schedule.

There are plenty of outdoor activities which can incorporate time management. Here are a few ideas you could try at your school.

Get in Touch

Timed Games

You could use stopwatches and sand timers to keep track of the time. Then ask children to complete a task within a certain time limit. This can become a team game where different groups compete and see who has the fastest time.

Activities you can do against the clock include completing puzzles, building things, making up scenes to act out, and loads more.

Sports with Time Goals

Another way you can incorporate time management is through sports and physical activity. Ask each child to time how long it takes them to run a certain distance or complete an obstacle course.

This doesn’t have to be competitive, but it can give the children a chance to set their own goals and beat them next time. It’s more about improving on their own time rather than trying to beat others.

4. An Organised Playground Design

Another way of maintaining order in the play area is to have a specific place for each type of equipment. This way, children can travel around the playground doing different activities.

It also gives the quieter kids a chance to sit and relax, while more sporty kids can enjoy playing physical games.

Some examples of different playground zones might include:

  • A sports area with line markings, goals ends, basketball hoops etc.
  • Obstacle course or adventure area with climbing and balancing equipment.
  • Seating area for relaxing, chatting and quiet activities.
  • Space for playing with small toys like building blocks.
  • An area with a sandbox and water table for discovery play.

You don’t have to have a separate space for all these things in your school play area. But splitting up the playground helps create a more organised layout. This way children can choose which activities they want to do during their break. Then they can switch between different games at playtime.

The Importance of Organisation

Organisational skills help children find order and routine in their daily lives. This helps them create a consistent structure, and see patterns and groupings between different items.

Being organised helps to improve performance in lessons as well as the development of other important skills. It’s also a way of developing self-regulation and creating improvements in behaviour. So kids can manage their own time and behaviour without constant adult supervision.

There are plenty of ways to encourage organisation and structure on the playground. Why not try to implement some of our tips and see how these can benefit your pupils.

Playground Markings for Primary Schools

Throughout the UK, playground markings for primary schools are very popular as they combine play and learning together for young children. The work of installing thermoplastic markings on the floor is a simple process that our team will carry out with the utmost speed and professionalism. This goes as follows:

  • Our team getting the design, the colours and the specifications of your thermoplastic marking(s). If you have no design, then you can browse our previous works and see if any of them stand out to you.
  • Next, we start to create the thermoplastic graphics by following the design given to us. We make sure that your design isn’t tampered with and that you get exactly what you’re asking for.
  • After this process, we will bring the thermoplastic markings to the place of installation and start to coordinate on where to place it. Once a location has been selected, the graphic is lowered on top of it and heat from a burner is applied to it.
  • Finally, after the thermoplastics have taken between 15 minutes – 1 hour to cool down, the surface will be completely solid and therefore, can be used by the children with no delay!

Play area graphics are incredibly quick to install and cause a minimum amount of disruption to the facility, meaning that children will still be able to play around during their breaks and face hardly any problems from the installation. Available Space

The available space in the school playground significantly influences the playground design and the types of landscape structures that can be included.

When working with limited space, efficient layout planning becomes crucial. A clever approach is to create designated zones for various activities, such as a quiet reading area, a play structure zone, and an open space for group games.

Incorporating multi-functional equipment like benches with built-in storage or integrated play elements can help save space while offering multiple functionalities.

Utilising vertical spaces by installing climbing walls or elevated platforms can also maximise play opportunities within a small footprint.

Safety and Durability

Safety and durability are paramount when choosing play equipment for schools, ensuring that the playground is not only fun but also secure and long-lasting.

One of the key aspects to consider for safety is the playground safety surfacing, which plays a vital role in cushioning falls and reducing impact injuries. The use of materials like rubber mulch or poured-in-place rubber can enhance the safety of the playground surface.

Construction methods that focus on proper anchoring and installation ensure the stability and longevity of the equipment.

By investing in high-quality materials and construction practices, schools can create a secure and durable play environment for children to enjoy for years to come.

Budget

Budget considerations are crucial when selecting playground equipment for a school playground, as schools need to balance cost with quality and functionality.

One effective way to manage playground equipment costs is by creating a detailed budget plan. Start by researching different suppliers to compare prices and quality.

Prioritise essential pieces like swings, slides, and climbing frames, and allocate a separate budget for maintenance and repairs to prolong the lifespan of the equipment.

By being strategic and thoughtful in the approach, schools can ensure a safe and engaging playground environment without breaking the bank.

Installation Process of Playground Equipment

The installation process of playground equipment in a school playground involves several critical steps to ensure that the equipment is safely and correctly set up.

Site preparation is the initial step where the ground is levelled and cleared of any obstacles to create a safe foundation for the playground.

Next, assembly of equipment involves following manufacturer instructions meticulously to ensure structural integrity. Safety checks play a vital role in verifying that all components are securely fastened and meet safety standards.

Professional installation services are crucial for precise assembly and adherence to safety guidelines. Final inspections are conducted to confirm that the playground meets all safety regulations before it is open for use.

Maintenance and Safety Guidelines for Schools

Regular maintenance and adherence to safety guidelines are essential for ensuring that playground equipment remains safe and functional for school children over time.

Regular Inspections and Cleaning

Regular inspections and cleaning of playground equipment are crucial for identifying any potential hazards and ensuring a safe play environment in the school playground.

During inspections, it’s important to check for signs of wear and tear, loose bolts, sharp edges, and any broken parts that could pose a safety risk to children.

Cleaning procedures should involve using mild soap and water to remove dirt, debris, and any potential contaminants that may have accumulated on the equipment.

For different types of equipment, such as swings, slides, and climbing structures, specific maintenance guidelines should be followed to prolong their lifespan and ensure optimal safety.

Proper Supervision

Proper supervision is a key component of playground safety, ensuring that kids are monitored while they play and that any unsafe behaviours or conditions are promptly addressed.

Teachers and staff play a crucial role in supervising the playground, as they are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the children under their care. They need to be vigilant, observant, and proactive in spotting potential risks and intervening when necessary.

Effective supervision strategies include regularly scanning the play area, setting clear boundaries and rules, intervening in conflicts or risky behaviours, and being easily accessible for assistance or guidance.

Maintaining a safe play environment is essential for fostering a positive and enjoyable experience for children. It not only reduces the risk of injuries but also promotes healthy physical activity, social interaction, and cognitive development.

Encouraging cooperative play, modelling positive behaviour, and providing guidance on using equipment safely are all ways in which teachers and staff can contribute to creating a secure and fun playground atmosphere.

Educating Children on Safe Play

Educating children on safe play practices is essential for preventing accidents and ensuring that they understand how to use playground equipment safely.

One effective method to teach children about playground safety is by incorporating interactive activities and games that emphasize the importance of following rules and guidelines.

Utilising visual aids, such as posters with clear illustrations of safe play behaviours, can also help reinforce these lessons. Encouraging regular communication with children about their experiences on the playground and addressing any concerns they may have can contribute to a safety-conscious mindset.

It’s crucial to emphasize the significance of utilising proper playground safety surfacing to cushion falls and reduce the risk of injuries. Teaching kids to inspect equipment for any signs of damage before use and demonstrating the correct way to play on each piece of playground equipment can further enhance their understanding of safe play practices.

PS4 Activity Games Space Area in Penrith

Our installation team recently completed a project to build a PS4 activity games space area in Penrith. The work was done for North Lakes School through the Sport England Primary Spaces scheme which aimed to improve outdoor facilities to get kids more active in schools. These multi-use games spaces have been specially designed to offer children a versatile outdoor area which can be utilised for numerous activities, sports and games. The complete facility is comprised of a multi-coloured playing surface with activity panels and goals at either end which can be used for football, basketball and other games.

Find Out More

For this particular construction project, the school already had an existing tarmac area which they used as a playground and MUGA court. This gave us a perfect sub base for the chosen activity surfacing specification which was the Multisport synthetic carpet. The reason we used this artificial turf flooring is that it is extremely durable and versatile so it is suitable for continuous use by children playing a lot of different games and sports. Because this specification is a fibre bonded style of carpet which is needled together, it is a lot more porous than other synthetic turf so water can drain through it very quickly and efficiently. We often install this flooring type for multi use games areas and recreational athletics facilities at schools, colleges and local sports clubs.

The first stage of the construction process for our professional installers was to put in the multi-coloured fencing and goal ends at the two ends of the school’s chosen area. These contain a football goal, basketball hoop and coloured shapes which can be incorporated into any PE lessons or break time activities. The existing tarmac surface provides a good foundation for the Multisport synthetic flooring as it is hard, smooth and durable. This means that the macadam will support the carpet and provide even playing qualities on the activity surface.

Penrith Activity Area

Once the fencing and goal ends had been secured into place, the installers began laying out the synthetic carpet pieces in the specified design. This was done in a blue and green checkered square pattern with yellow down the sides and red in front of the two goals. Each piece of artificial surfacing was rolled out into the correct position and secured to the tarmac base at the seams with a specialist glue to hold them firmly in place.

The final part of the work for this PS4 activity games space area in Penrith was to apply a layer of sand infill across the whole area. This is done because the curly yarn fibres of the Multisport synthetic turf encapsulate the sand to ensure even playing qualities. The silica sand particles help to hold the grass fibres in an upright position to ensure players are comfortable when running around on the surface. When this process was finished, the end result was a fantastic outdoor activity area that the children and staff at the school are very happy with. This facility can now be used during PE lessons, break times and extracurricular clubs to help pupils become more active and improve their health.

Please have a look at this video which shows the full construction process for this activity surface:

We then screed it onto a concrete, stone or macadam sub base to create a smooth even layer. Wetpour is available in a number of different colours and can also have graphic inserts installed to create a fun play area for young people.

Some of the popular colours include:

  • Red
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Yellow
  • Purple
  • Pink

There are also many other popular wetpour colours and mixtures which we also supply depending on the design you would like. Do bear in mind that some colours come at a higher price point than others, and standard black is always our cheapest option.

One great thing about wet pour surfacing is that we could alter the depth of the flooring to meet specific Critical Fall Heights. If high playground equipment is present on the area, we might install the wetpour much thicker to absorb the impact, in the event a child falls off the equipment.

If you want to find out about the installation process, please have a look at this video below. It shows one of the wetpour installations we have carried out within the UK:

Another great thing about wetpour surfacing is that it requires very little maintenance. In the event the flooring suffers damage due to vandalism, rips or perimeter shrinkage, you can fix the area easily with the help of a professional team – or even DIY repair kits. In some cases, you could cut the wet pour into a particular shape and install a different colour there to make exciting graphics for children to play on.

EPDM wet pour rubber is a great surface type and has a fantastic impact absorbing properties. If you wish to find out the costs of installing this type of rubberised flooring, please visit this page or get in touch with our team using the enquiry form available.

Rubber Playground Mulch

The second play surface on our list of the top 3 safety surfaces for playgrounds is rubber mulch. Rubber mulch is basically bonded play bark, which offers impact absorbing properties to create a safer surface for children to play on.

This type of surfacing is ideal for woodlands areas and playgrounds which become muddy in wet conditions. Rubberised playground mulch offers a more natural look, yet can still keep children safe when using playground equipment and timber trails.

Just like wetpour, the mulch is available in different depths to meet up with various CFHs. The purpose of this flooring is to create a natural looking area which is safe for young children to play on. Rubber mulch is available in different colours too. Brown and green are the more popular shades to choose, as these look the most natural.

Bonded rubberised shred is basically loose rubberised chippings that have been bound together using resin. There are many advantages of resin bound rubber mulch, which includes minimal maintenance work and preparation needed during the installation. Since we can lay rubber shred on most surface types, the cost to install this surfacing is reasonably low.

Artificial Grass Play Area

The last of our three surfaces which you could use for safety play-areas is artificial grass. When installing synthetic turf for nurseries and schools, you can have the option of a shockpad. We can install shockpads beneath the artificial grass to make a more impact absorbing surface; this makes the flooring a lot safer in the event children fall over.

Artificial grass play areas are a great option if you are looking for a more natural appearance. There are a number of different synthetic turf specifications available to ensure you receive exactly what you are looking for. Synthetic grass can come with different pile heights to suit the client’s needs; you will find that some pile heights make the surface look more natural when compared to others.

Playground Safety Flooring

All of these surfaces are completely porous, which gives them a huge advantage over natural surfaces like grass. These could become muddy and waterlogged in wet conditions. The equipment you have within the area and how you’ll use it will determine which surface is best for your playground.

As an example, if you are looking for a natural woodlands appearance, wet pour would not be an option. We can discuss the different surfaces in more detail if necessary and we can offer our professional opinion along with details on costs. To find out more regarding playground safety flooring, please get in touch using the enquiry form presented on this page.

School Athletics Track Designs

Out of all sporting activities, none are as famous as athletics. Due to the wide variety of sports that are offered through it, a lot of people really enjoy taking part in it. However, when it comes to it, you will need a sprinting track and a long jump runway to take part in these activities fully and properly.

There are plenty of school athletics track designs available and you can fully customise the surfacing to suit your requirements and budget.

Benefits of Athletics in Schools

Athletics is seen by a lot of people as one of the most active areas of sport due to the range of different activities included. Ranging from long jump to sprint, athletics offers pupils a chance to work out a wide variety of muscles compared to other sports which mainly focus on one section.

Not only do pupils benefit from the wide variety of activities it offers, but so do the schools. With athletics facilities, all you need is lanes to do most of the running events and a jump track to do the jumping events.

Types of Surfacing for an Athletic Facility

When it comes to getting an athletic track surfaced, there are two main different surfaces you can choose from. These are either EPDM Polymeric Rubber or Needlepunch Synthetic Carpet.

EPDM Polymeric Rubber is used by many high schools, colleges and clubs as it is a lot more professional quality for sprint tracks and long jump runways. The surface is made up of rubber granules which are mixed in with a binder. After this, the mixture is then spread out on top of a macadam sub base.

In addition to this, there is a range of colour options that you can choose from to make the track more personalised if desired. Line markings can also be spray painted on to the track for each different athletics event, meaning it can be used for multiple events without the hassle of having to get new tracks installed.

Needlepunch Synthetic Carpet is a lot more popular with primary schools due to it having a softer and more impact absorbing texture than EPDM. This surface is an artificial turf product which is fibre bonded with a tight yarn, whilst having a layer of sand installed within the pile for stability. It’s also used for activity flooring, so check out this page for more details on that.

This is perfect for recreational sports facilities as kids will most likely take a few tumbles when taking part in these types of sports. It can also come in a range of bright colours, with the most popular selection being rainbow due to how quickly it can get the children’s attention.

Both surfaces are used for different groups but they both have a lot of things in common. They’re both high quality, both take around the same amount of time to install and both allow for years of athletic sports to be carried out on them.

Primary School Athletics Games

In primary school, it can be a lot harder to get children interested in sports as they would rather be left to their own minds. However, athletic tracks give children a sense of interest and wonder. It keeps them interested since most of them would have never seen such a thing. Have a look at this post to see the benefits of promoting athletics sports at your school.

Another reason is that the range of sports you can do on these facilities is phenomenal. Ranging from relay races which can build on teamwork skills to marathons which will improve the stamina and determination of a kid. It’s very rare for most sports to be able to keep the interest of the child whilst also giving them a lot of health benefits.

The best bit about a school athletics track is the physical expression it allows. With kids having a lot of energy and wanting to express it, classrooms can become a nightmare if these children don’t get a chance to fully let loose and get rid of the energy. Athletics is a physically intensive activity which will make sure that children who take part get that chance to express their energy.

By doing this, children will feel a lot happier and more exhausted from getting that chance and in lessons, they won’t be as energetic and giddy. This gives teachers a well-deserved break as well and overall, creates a great learning environment for children to learn in compared to if these kids still had all their energy built up.

Running Track Surface Specifications

When it comes to getting a running track or a long jump runway, you’ll need to supply us with the specifications of the facility you want. We will need measurements of the area where you want to install, so we know if the installation is possible. Alongside this, we will also want to know what type of surface you want to have installed. These things all affect the cost of the athletics surface so it’s important that we know as many details as possible.

This video shows one of our projects where our team installed a long jump surface at a school in Denbigh:

We can install these facilities in a range of levels, sizes and shapes so by telling us these factors as well, we can get a better image of the final product you have in mind. There are also compact athletic facilities available if you only have limited outdoor space. Regardless of how big the track is, you will also need to carry out regular cleaning.

This cleaning process will stop contaminants from appearing and causing problems with the track itself. We do offer a cleaning service for these tracks as well so feel free to enquire about it. Alongside this, if the area gets damaged, we can also repair them for you and even install a few minor features like landing area covers and removable take-off boards.

Needlepunch Playground Construction In Kilmarnock

The synthetic turf surfacing used in a needlepunch playground construction is made up of a fibre-bonded artificial carpet which has a curly yarn to improve the stability and playing characteristics. Needlepunch synthetic turf can be installed in different coloured designs and is ideal for multi-use game areas and even athletics tracks.

The soft, impact-absorbing turf is ideal for use in primary schools where younger children are using the facility as it reduces the risk of injury from trips and falls. We used the best specification of needlepunch synthetic turf to create excellent playing qualities and a durable surface that will last a long time.

We began the needlepunch playground construction by excavating the existing area to the required depth and then installing a specialist sports sub-base. This dynamic sub-base was made up of porous angular stones which fit together to create a strong foundation but still allow water to drain through the gaps.

After the sub-base layer was compacted and stabilised, the needlepunch surfacing itself was laid out on top. We rolled the carpet out in separate pieces and joined each piece together at the seams and the edges with a specialised sports pitch glue to hold it in place. The school chose to have their playing surface installed in green with red around the perimeter.

Once the surfacing had been installed for the needlepunch playground construction, a layer of silica sand was applied within the woven fibres of the carpet pile. This sand infill helps to improve the performance qualities of the surfacing and gives a more stable playing surface for a variety of activities.

The final product was a multi-purpose needlepunch playground which can now be used by the school for football, hockey, tennis and general multi-sports and play activities. The school’s staff and students are very pleased with their new synthetic sports facility and are looking forward to using it during PE lessons, break times and in extracurricular clubs.

Benefits Of Needlepunch Surfacing In Kilmarnock

Installing a Needlepunch playground surface in Kilmarnockcomes with many benefits such as:

Softer Surfacing For Playgrounds

Having NeedlePunch surfacing installed in Kilmarnock provides a soft and safer surface for children,

This is why it is one of the most popular surfacing options for schools and playgrounds.

Long Lasting And Durable

Needlepunch surfacing is known to last a lot longer than your standard Polermeric surface.

This is because with the proper care the paint does not fade as quickly as it would with Polermeric after a bit of wear and tear.

Provides A Better Sports Performance

This may sound unbelievable since it is just a rubber surface.

However, compared to Polermeric surfacing it has been proven that Needlepunch surfacing provides more grip and helps the athletes to run faster.

Managing Behaviour Through Active Outdoor Play

Managing children’s behaviour can often be difficult for schools and teachers as not all pupils respond to instructions in the same way. The increasing numbers of children being diagnosed with behavioural problems makes this even more of a challenge.

The estimate in the UK is that around 2-5% of school-age children have ADHD. This is the most common behavioural disorder in the country. The provision of active outdoor play in an engaging and stimulating environment at schools has been shown to address these issues. It also helps to reduce symptoms in children with these kinds of disorders.

Contact Our Team

Children with behavioural disorders such as ADHD can be misunderstood by teachers and their needs are sometimes not dealt with appropriately. Schools often take a negative approach to these problems by denying a child the opportunity to take part in active play if they have exhibited ‘disruptive’ behaviour or a ‘lack of attention’.

These techniques of behaviour management are typically counter-productive. This is because disruptive children usually become more frustrated when they are unable to release their energy through physical activity or outdoor play. The build-up of adrenaline and testosterone only increases frustration and therefore leads to the child becoming more hyperactive and disruptive.

Benefits of Active Outdoor Play

Schools and nurseries need a more productive way of dealing with children who have difficult behaviour. One option is to provide a positive learning environment. This gives them access to active outdoor play in a fun environment. This has benefits for all children as it enables them to ‘let off steam’ and release built up energy. They will then be able to concentrate and focus their attention more in lessons.

Research shows that allowing children to be active and take part in sports and physical games outdoors helps rebalance hormones. This, in turn, reduces disruptive behaviour and encourages better concentration. You can even incorporate educational activities into the play area including outdoor maths games and more.

A study recently published in the journal Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being found that children who regularly play outdoors have reduced ADHD symptoms compared with those who play indoors. This supports the need for better external play facilities at schools and nurseries. These then allow children to take part in physical activities. They can do this whilst also learning and developing social skills with others.

Providing Facilities for Activity

Educational organisations have a responsibility to manage children’s behaviour appropriately, and providing opportunities for active outdoor play can benefit all children, not just those with behavioural difficulties. Every child should have the chance let out their physical energy by playing games and socialising with others. Offering this in an outdoor environment is a simple way to help relieve frustration and improve concentration in lessons.

Outdoor Recreational Areas

There are a number of ways that schools and nurseries can improve their outdoor environment. These all provide a better place for children to learn and play while releasing built up energy. Adventure trails and activity units give kids the chance to develop a number of physical skills. The main ones being balance, coordination and agility as well as social skills in working with others.

Educational playground markings can provide kids with a number of games. Some of the options include maths grids, letter snakes and maps which encourage intellectual development through fun activities. There are also a whole host of other types of play equipment including climbing walls and activity panels, and playground graphic marking designs such as sports lines and traditional games.

Your school can choose from various different options and therefore customise the design. This helps ensure you get the perfect outdoor recreational area which meets the needs of your pupils.
