Playgrounds are a place where kids can become incredibly imaginative and playful with a wide variety of equipment. However, when the equipment is fully occupied, what else can kids engage with?
Thermoplastic markings. These school playground marking designs are incredibly simple yet effective floor designs that try to fully engage children to play on the playground through a variety of games. As well as this, the playground markings can also educate the kids in a fun and creative way and give them a boost in academic scores compared to other children.
Thermoplastic Play Area Graphics
When it comes to developing your playground, thermoplastics are an incredible way to bring some colour and imagination to the area. With a wide range of colours and designs, you can make your thermoplastics a lot more unique and personal to match your ideas.
Thermoplastic graphics are incredibly effective for engaging kids through the variety of games that can be played with them. Ranging from the classic hopscotch to noughts and crosses, the designs are made to get kids active whilst at the same time being imaginative and thought-provoking.
Playground Markings for Primary Schools
Throughout the UK, playground markings for primary schools are very popular as they combine play and learning together for young children. The work of installing thermoplastic markings on the floor is a simple process that our team will carry out with the utmost speed and professionalism. This goes as follows:
- Our team getting the design, the colours and the specifications of your thermoplastic marking(s). If you have no design, then you can browse our previous works and see if any of them stand out to you.
- Next, we start to create the thermoplastic graphics by following the design given to us. We make sure that your design isn’t tampered with and that you get exactly what you’re asking for.
- After this process, we will bring the thermoplastic markings to the place of installation and start to coordinate on where to place it. Once a location has been selected, the graphic is lowered on top of it and heat from a burner is applied to it.
- Finally, after the thermoplastics have taken between 15 minutes – 1 hour to cool down, the surface will be completely solid and therefore, can be used by the children with no delay!
Play area graphics are incredibly quick to install and cause a minimum amount of disruption to the facility, meaning that children will still be able to play around during their breaks and face hardly any problems from the installation. See our wetpour page as well if you are interested in rubber surface graphics as an alternative.
The school playground marking designs can be tailored to suit different Key Stages depending on the age of your pupils and there are plenty of shapes and colours available.
Educational Floor Designs
When it comes to educational floor designs, some ideas that have been used before include:
- Number grids
- A – Z footsteps
- Compasses
- World maps
- Clocks
- Phonics designs
These are just a few simple examples of what is offered when it comes to educational floor designs. Obviously, we can use your own design but it’s completely fine for us to do one of the pre-set designs. Either way, our main goal is to make you 100% satisfied with our services.
Educational markings have been proven to be incredibly effective for teaching kids new things about certain topic areas. Through playing with them, kids become a lot more interested in the particular topic and therefore learn the subject a lot quicker than usual. See our post on outdoor play for EYFS to find out more about activities for this age group.
This explains why a lot of popular playgrounds and well-performing schools have these types of thermoplastic graphics. Kids love to interact with these graphics and there is no surprise why. Send our team an enquiry today about your designs and we’ll be ready to help bring your idea to life.
School Play Area Games
Thermoplastic graphics aren’t all built for educational activities; some are built for just playing games and building children’s social skills. Some popular games include:
- Hopscotch
- Maze
- Target
- Snake and ladders
- Chessboard
With these types of graphics applied to your playground, kids can always find ways to play and enjoy their playtime without having to wait around for play equipment to be free. Thermoplastic graphics offer quick alternatives to play without wasting time.
In addition, these types of thermoplastics can often be used in PE lessons due to the wide variety of activities you can perform on them. Teachers can come up with unique games to play on them to keep kids entertained or, make the thermoplastic graphics a lot more linear which allows kids to understand the use of it a lot quicker.
