Installing Synthetic Grass With Shockpad

Our team recently installed a synthetic turf surface for an outdoor gym outside a hospital in London. This project included a rubber shockpad underneath the grass to provide a more impact absorbing surface. The shockpad helps to make the area safer for people using the outdoor equipment on the grass.

Take a look at the video below to see the full project and how it turned out.

Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be showing you an Artificial Grass with Rubber Shock Pad Installation at St Ann’s Hospital, London

So with this installation, the hospital got in contact with us with the intention of creating an outdoor space that gave the appearance of natural grass, but with reduced maintenance.

We explained the artificial grass that we could install for them, along with its many benefits. Shortly after, we were on site cracking on with the work.

So one big benefit of the synthetic turf we installed for this job is that it’s a brilliant outdoor surface, particularly for organisations such as these that could do without the tedious traditional grass maintenance.

The artificial surface is perfect for the outdoors here in the UK as it’s largely weatherproof, able to withstand our more challenging months and with no need to cut or trim in the summer.

We only use high-quality materials when fitting this product, as we feel it’s important to preserve as much of the natural look with the artificial grass as possible.

For this actual job, we chose to fit a rubber shock pad underneath the artificial grass itself. The reason for this is because the rubber soaks up trips and falls excellently, and we wanted to ensure that the flooring was as safe as possible at the hospital.

At Soft Surfaces, we’ve been installing and maintaining fake turf for over 20 years now, and are proud to offer these services nationwide. So if you’re interested in having artificial grass fitted, please feel free to get in touch with us.

You can see here that the final job has been completed, and looks great as their new outdoor surface. The hospital themselves were really pleased with the work we carried out for them.

Although we do work nationwide here at Soft Surfaces, as we’ve carried out a lot of work in the London area we now rank in Google for the following keywords:

  • Fake Turf Installers London
  • Best Artificial Grass Company London
  • London 3G Surfacing Experts

Wetpour Pathway for a Retirement Home

We installed this rubber wetpour pathway surface for a retirement home in Leicester. Check out this video to see the project from start to finish.

Video Transcript

Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be looking at a wetpour pathway installation at a retirement home in Leicester.

So for this job the client got in contact with us to have a new pathway fitted at their facility. For them, the safety of the surface was the priority, but they also wanted their new pathway to look natural in order to preserve the area’s appearance.

We then explained our wetpour flooring to them, and how that could be the perfect surface type for the pathway they desired. Before long, we were at their retirement home installing the job.

So with the wetpour surfacing we install, one of it’s biggest advantages as a surface is just how safe it is. Wetpour is made up of an EPDM rubber, and because of this any falls or trips that may happen on wetpour are absorbed extremely well, significantly reducing the chances of serious injury.

Get in Touch

Additionally, as a surface to be installed outside, wetpour is perfect for countries like ours that have a lot of rain each year, as it’s porous. This means that rain is absorbed through the rubber wetpour, making it more flood-resistant and much more suited to the outdoors than many other surface types.

Finally, we can install this product in almost any colour and design specification you choose, from vibrant multicoloured playgrounds to natural-looking pathways such as this one, this is totally up to you!

At Soft Surfaces we’ve been installing wetpour pahtways nationwide for over 20 years now, and no job is too small or large for us to carry out, so if you’re interested, please do get in touch.

You can see now that the work has been completed, and looks wonderful as their new outdoor pathway. The client was extremely happy with what we did for them.

Although we do work nationwide, we’ve done a lot of work in the Leicester area and now rank in Google for the following keywords:

  • Best Pathway Installation in Leicester
  • Leicester Wetpour Safety Surfacing

Rubber Mulch Track Surfacing

We installed a rubber mulch track surface for a school in Coventry, West Midlands. This area is designed for children to take part in the daily mile, where they are challenged to walk or run a mile each day at school.

Take a look at the video below to see the full project and how the surfacing was installed.

Video Transcript
Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be showing you a Rubber Mulch Daily Mile Track Installation in Coventry.

So initially we were contacted by this primary school who were interested in having a daily mile track fitted on their existing field. We explained what we could offer them, and soon after we were at the location getting to work.

So for those of you who are unaware of what a daily mile track is, it’s essentially a running track built to encourage kids to complete a mile every day during playtime. Schools love this initiative as it’s helping to improve their pupils fitness on a brilliant new facility.

So here at Soft Surfaces we’ve been building these tracks nationwide for years now, and the surface type we opted for for this actual install was rubber mulch.

Talk To Us

Rubber mulch is a surface consisting of recycled rubber bark, and offers many benefits particularly for schools. These include:

As a result of it’s rubber build up, rubber mulch is an excellent safety surface for children to be using. The rubber absorbs trips and falls fantastically, and therefore meets the critical fall height requirements needed.

Additionally, rubber mulch is a flooring that is perfect for the outdoors, again due to it’s rubber make up. The rubber actually absorbs the rain during our more rainy months, massively reducing the chances of flooding to the surface.

You can have rubber mulch fitted in several different colour choices, all of which can be discussed with you during the enquiry stage. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you are interested.

You can see now that the final job has been completed, and looks amazing as their new large running track area. The client were so happy with the final results.

Although we do work nationwide, here at Soft Surfaces we’ve done a lot of work in the Coventry area and now rank in Google for these keywords:

Nursery Wetpour Flooring Repair

Our team repaired a wetpour playground surface which had become damaged, at a school in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Take a look at this video to see the full project from start to finish.

Video Transcript
Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be showing you a Nursery School Wetpour Surfacing Repair in Portsmouth.

So our client for this work was a nursery owner, who sent over photos of their damaged wetpour surface in need of repairs. We broke down the services we could offer them, and were quickly at the Nursery to carry out the necessary work.

Rubber wetpour surfacing is arguably the best flooring choice available for play areas in the UK, however if not properly maintained, this surfacing like any other can begin to wear and tear overtime.

This particular client’s surface was beginning to show cracks and gaps that made the area simply unusable for the children, developing into a situation that could have become dangerous if not addressed.

Due to the extend of the damage with this job, our team went about resurfacing the damaged central area of the wetpour so that it was back to its original best.

We ensure that all the work we do to repair playgrounds will restore the facility back to a safe, aesthetically pleasing surface for the children to play on.

Here at Soft Surfaces we’re proud to not only be expert playground installers, but market leaders in playground maintenance too. Over the last 20 years, we’ve been building and repairing surfaces nationwide, and there’s really no job too big or too small for us.

You can see now from these photos that the work has been carried out, and the play area looks fantastic again. Gone are the dangerous gaps and cracks in the surface, and the nursery can rest assured that their play area is safe again.

Despite being a nationwide company, we’ve done plenty of work in the Portsmouth area and now rank in Google for these keyphrases:

  • Portsmouth Play Area Rejuvenation
  • Expert Wetpour Repair Portsmouth
  • Best Portsmouth Playground Company
  • EPDM Rubber Resurfacing Portsmouth

Wetpour Rubber Flooring Install

We installed this wetpour rubber surface for an outdoor space in Leicester. The client chose this flooring to go underneath play equipment and a canopy. It has a vibrant coloured design to make it a fun space for children to play.

Take a look at the video below to see the project in full.

Video Transcript

Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be showing you an Outdoor Wetpour Surfacing Install in Leicester.

So for this job we were emailed by the school that own this area, and wanted to create an outdoor playground that was safe for children to be using.

We discussed wetpour surfacing with them, and it’s many benefits as a play area flooring option. Before we knew it, we were on site installing the bespoke works.

So wetpour surfaces are widely believed to be the best option for outdoor playgrounds here in the UK, as they are made up of a spongy rubber compound.

This compound means that the flooring is great at absorbing trips and falls commonly seen during playtime, and in turn meets the critical fall height safety requirements needed for UK play areas.

As well as this, wetpour surfaces are a wonderful choice for places like schools, nurseries, universities and parks as they are perfectly suited to the outdoors. This is because it’s rubber qualities actually make the surfacing porous, able to simply absorb the rain that may effect other surface types.

Finally, for those wanting a playground they can customise, wetpour is the go to. You can have this fitted in basically any colour choices you like, and custom graphics can be fitted to the surface to help children learn during play too. This is another reason why so many opt for wetpour.

We’ve been installing and maintaining wetpour surfaces across the entire country for over 20 years now, and we’re happy to work on jobs of all shapes and sizes, so please do get in touch if you’re interested.

You can see from these images that the final job has been finished, and looks stunning in the multicoloured design. The school themselves were super happy with the work.

Wetpour Safety Surfacing Installation

We carried out this rubber playground surfacing project for a school in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The client chose a colourful orange and green design with a number of fun animal graphics.

Video Transcript

Hi guys it’s Dan here, and today we’re going to be showing you a Rubber Wetpour Play Area Flooring in Bradford.

So this school came to us wanting to have a custom play area surfacing fitted that enhanced the appearance of the area whilst making certain that the surface was as safe as possible for their pupils to be using. We broke down what we could offer for them, and we were soon on site installing.

With this job we ended up agreeing that EPDM rubber wetpour would be the best flooring type to fit their play area. This surface itself is actually the most popular of the options we provide, and here’s why:

To begin with, wetpour is made up of a spongy rubber compound that acts as a superb safety surface for children. It’s because of this rubber build-up that wetpour meets the critical fall height standards needed for UK playgrounds, and therefore makes it one of, if not the safest surface in the market.

Next, wetpour is the best option for those looking for something with endless design possibilities, as here at Soft Surfaces we can install wetpour in basically any colour combination and pattern you’d like. We can also fit bespoke graphics such as educational games, shapes, logos and more to the surface as part of the installation too!

Finally, the last big benefit of opting for EPDM rubber wetpour for your play area is that it’s a porous system, and because of this water is just absorbed by the wetpour during our rainy months. This makes it the perfect outdoor playground surface for our country.

We’re proud to have been installing and maintaining wetpour for over 2 decades now, so please do get in touch regardless of the size of the works.

These images now show the job fully completed and looks really stunning in their multicoloured design with various graphics fitted throughout. The school really love their new playground.

Despite being a company that does work nationwide, we’ve worked on a lot of sites in the Bradford area and now rank in Google for these terms:

With wetpour, clients are attracted to this surface for it’s many benefits, the first of which being how well suited it is to our British weather conditions. Wetpour is made up of a rubber EPDM material, so it simply absorbs the rain during our rainy seasons.

Furthermore, when having wetpour surfacing fitted, playground owners can rest assured that this surface is one of the safest available. It’s rubberised compound means that falls on the play are are well absorbed, and it meets the critical fall height requirements needed for UK play areas.

Resin Bound Paving Maintenance

Stone surfaces for driveways and paths have become increasingly popular over the past couple years and it’s important to carry out resin bound paving maintenance for these outdoor areas. This is because it maintains the functionality and appearance of the flooring for as long as possible. The resin-bound gravel specification is perfect for outdoor facilities. This is because of the stylish stone design and the ease of installing the product.

Maintaining Resin Bound Stone

Once the resin-bound gravel stone has been installed, it’s incredibly important to take good care of your facility. Maintaining resin bound stone is easy and offers amazing results. We offer specialist cleaning and maintenance services to ensure that your facility will be in the best possible condition all year round

This is particularly important for pathways in public areas such as recreational playgrounds and visitor attractions. The product is completely porous which is one of the main benefits of installing resin-bound gravel. The porosity of this specification allows for water to pass straight through it, not only making it perfect for driveways as it can reduce flooding, but tree surrounds and pool surrounds.

However without careful resin bound paving maintenance, your facility could begin to lose the porosity it originally had. A thorough jet wash of your surface can remove any small contaminations that could be causing issues with drainage. This will also ensure that the resin bound driveway, path, car park or pool surround will remain clean and good looking.

Each client can tailor the appearance and design, ensuring that they have the perfect outdoor surface. This includes the stone size and if they would like any vibrant designs to be installed into the work. The resin-bound stone installation process is dynamic, allowing for different shapes and sizes to be easily installed into the flooring for a bespoke look.

We have years of experience in the surfacing industry and we carry out installations and maintenance services at great prices. All of our team members are fully trained to know what needs to be done to keep the resin-bound paving in good condition. If you would like details on the maintenance services, please get in touch now using the contact form provided.

Resin Bound Gravel Cleaning

When going out to different companies for resin bound gravel cleaning, it’s essential that you make sure they have the necessary accreditations and certifications to carry out the works to a high standard. We pride ourselves on the quality of work that we carry out and we ensure that our range of services will give clients the best value for their budget. Previous projects we have completed include pathways at golf clubs, domestic driveways and commercial car parks and each job is tailored to the individual client.

Resin-bound gravel cleaning and maintenance is a great way of stopping any long term damages to your facility arising, however, overtime damages are inevitable. This is why we also offer a repair service to rectify any problems such as cracks on the surface. If any damages happen to the paving, leading to bumps and uneven surfaces we can come out to site and screed more resin bonded mixture over the affected area.

Proactive resin bound paving maintenance is the best possible way of ensuring that the quality of your decorative gravel surface. It also helps keep it in the best condition for the duration of its product life. However to ensure that the facility goes back to its former condition after having damages, make sure that you have thorough reactive maintenance work done by a professional. We offer advice with regards to quotes and cost estimates for resin bound paving maintenance. Please feel free to contact us via our enquiry form.

Resin Driveways Maintenance

Resin driveways maintenance means that you are able to extend the life span of your bound gravel and make sure it’s safe to use. If you wait for the surfacing to become slippery prior to starting the maintenance plan, the flooring may become unsafe. Therefore we advise starting with frequent servicing on your surface immediately.

To keep the resin-bound stone surfacing nice and clean, we advise regular maintenance to take away leaves or dirt. This helps the surfacing to maintain its porosity and make certain liquids drains out as effectively as possible. To dispose of any weeds on your driveway, you can apply a weed killer. It’s essential not to use anything oil based as this could damage the surface.

A gentle pressure spray is enough to stop the growth of contaminants. You can use lukewarm water with a washing liquid to clean the surface. However you shouldn’t use boiling hot water as this could cause damage to the paving. You can remove snow and ice from the resin-bound floor utilising a light bristled sweep. Alternatively you could use a rubberised scraper in order to prevent damage.

The spec of resin-bound stone can be put in to any sort of shape or size simply because the stones and binder are mixed on site. We normally install the stone on a macadam or solid sub-base foundation for optimum steadiness and resilience.

Check out this video below which shows an installation project for this kind of surfacing in Stratford-Upon-Avon:

Resin Bonded Gravel Specification

When installing a resin bonded gravel specification, it is crucial the existing surface is dry and clean. It should be durable enough to withstand the new resin bonded gravel specification that you apply. This surface is a scatter system that we apply by hand. As this is a bound aggregate you don’t have to worry about loose stone becoming an issue or leading to a lot of maintenance requirements.

Resin Bonded Spec

One main advantage of a resin-bonded gravel specification is that these surfaces are incredibly durable, allowing for regular use of the flooring without having to worry about a lot of maintenance. This aggregate should only be installed on concrete or tarmacadam bases and is done so by applying the layer of resin to the flooring, followed by scattering the loose stone onto the surface. This will then gel together over time using an acrylic mixture, leaving you with strong and durable paving for paths, driveways car parks and commercial attractions.

We can provide details on the resin-bonded spec in more detail if necessary, simply fill in our contact form and we will reply as soon as possible.

Resin Bonded Stone Paving

Resin-bonded stone paving can help to completely transform your existing surface, quickly turning a run-down area into decorative flooring. This type of surfacing is often a popular choice for driveways. The resin-bonded stone paving gives the appearance of loose stone but without the added hassle of a traditional stone driveway.

We can install resin-bonded paving to many different specifications and dimensions. We also offer a variety of colours, as well as a range of designs of stone aggregate to ensure the facility is exactly how you want it. These surfaces are very popular for driveways and other domestic areas. They have anti-slip and anti-skid properties along with the fact that this aggregate is very durable. These factors make resin-bonded stone paving an excellent surface for parking vehicles on. You can find more benefits of resin bonded paving if you’d like to learn about this specification.

Bonded Gravel Design

There are a number of colours we can install the resin-bonded gravel in. We can alter the bonded gravel design to meet your individual needs and requirements. The design of the surface is a scatter system. This means that we install the resin onto the surface first then scatter the stones across the area. This means that the stones will bond to resin, but the surfacing will not be smooth.

The bonded gravel design is not a permeable surface type, which means that water cannot drain through. However, some people may decide to have this rather than porous resin bound surfacing due to the anti-skid qualities provided. This makes the surface great for those driveways on slopes.

Feel free to contact us regarding any service we provide. We can supply you with a quick and easy quotation for your resin-bonded gravel surfacing. We will also aid you with any questions you may have related to the design, specification or colour of the facility you are looking to install.
