The Daily Mile Track
The Daily Mile Track promotes daily childhood fitness in schools as children can do one mile a day.
The Daily Mile™ is an amazing initiative in the UK that aims to improve physical, emotional and wellbeing.
With schools looking to embrace The Daily Mile™, many need a durable surface track so it can be used all year round.
Muddy surfaces or waterlogged grass fields can be replaced with an all-weather surfacing facility.
To increase participation, we can create a Daily Mile Track to suit your needs and budget.
Daily Mile Tracks Surfacing
There are many surface types that can be installed for Daily Mile Tracks including:
Artificial Grass Daily Mile Track
An artificial grass daily mile track is a very popular specification.

The Daily Mile™ Initiative
Elaine Wyllie developed The Daily Mile initiative, back in 2012, whilst teaching at St Ninian’s Primary School.
Elaine had the aim to get pupils fitter by exercising for 15 minutes per day.
After one month Elaine Wyllie had seen a huge improvement in behaviour, concentration and fitness.
Exercise is a great way to tackle obesity and research is being carried out to determine cognitive and emotional benefits.
How much does a daily mile track cost?
The costs of a daily mile track are £80 per metre.
The costs of £80 per m2 can vary depending on the surface, existing ground conditions and area size.
The prices of daily mile tracks in schools can be adapted to fit your budget.
Daily Mile Track Funding
Daily Mile Track funding can be provided to schools if the facility can be used by the wider community.
The Daily Mile Foundation is a registered charity and does not have available funding to donate to schools.
It is important to note that a running track or all-weather surface is not necessary for The Daily Mile programme, but some schools will wish to install one using their own funding opportunities.
Summary
Our daily mile tracks have been designed to suit all schools budgets and can be installed into any shape to suit a school struggling for space.
